I think I’ll have to rethink my whole gender, since I have a penis, but whatever, haha.
@Evil Dead: That moose head. Ick
@Bob’s Burgers: I love that series. The previews before it aired looked awful, but actually watching it and hearing the dialog between Louise (bunny ears) and Gene is always hilarious. And when Tina has her weird, lesbian zombie fantasies — that’s awesome. The child molester burger (comes with candy). Hilarious! I have Netflix, too, so can’t wait for the second season to come out.
@Meg References: I started calling people who remind me of Meg “Edith” because of the character in “Downton Abbey” who is very Meg and should be shunned, stoned and/or got to a nunery. >_>
@Prometheus: Was a little disappointing. I think I’ll have to watch it again to get everything out of it. I feel like, as you said, it didn’t really lead into anything and was pretty much a standalone film that leaves open the possibilities for sequels within this universe, not including the other Alien-branded films. Delightful interior decorating in Charlize Theron’s room, though, and David was my favorite character by far. What a betch. Licking his finger to push the button to awaken the crew from hyperbolic sleep is a total, movie-encompassing and character-building allusion to the quote, “The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts.” Such a betch.
Keep up the totally-rad podcast. Love you guys! :D
Holy crap that’s funny! I have no idea when my brain defaulted on your gender as I usually assume everyone’s a dude.
So…I’ll put this on the FB wall too if I remember, but as to the whole ‘marketing Prometheus as a sequel thing’…I never saw that it was ACTUALLY marketed that way. Whatshis name even was pressured for quite some time to SAY that is was a prequel, and that is was a direct link to Alien, but it wasnt until after some random interview where he threw his hands up and said, “OKAY, FINE! Its a prequel..fans of the Alien films will see things that will connect the movies!” that the movie was finally pushed as a prequel. I think the fans really psyched themselves into making this film more than it was meant to be. Joey is right, it was def. pushed as a Weyland story from a marketing standpoint.
Sidenote: I watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows last night – and the gypsy girl in that is played by Noomi Rapace. She is gorgeous.
I thought Geiger was pronounced “GUY-ger.”
Also: I havent seen Prometheus yet. Shhh, Scott.
