Editorial: What Comics I Read This Week

This is a quick, to the point section on what I picked up in comics in the last couple days and what I think of them.

Angel and Faith #18

Angel and Faith #18
Writer: Christos Gage
Artist: Rebekah Isaacs
I can give you three sentences without spoiling the previous issues or season. Angel and Faith is an absolutely fantastic series that will please Angel and Buffy fans alike. The artwork and writing is spot on and this is one of the few books that I’m excited to read every single month. In this issue Giles’ past comes back to haunt our protagonists in the literal large way of Eyghon as evidenced by the cover.

Spoilers for previous issues and seasons. This issue continues the much welcome trend of getting glimpses of Giles as Ripper. Angel and Faith show up to help the slayers Eyghon ambushed. We also finally get an idea of what Angel’s actual plan for resurrecting Giles is and honestly has me believing they could succeed. People get resurrected in the Buffy-verse so its hard to know when death will be permanent, especially in this situation where Buffy decison to destroy all the magic in the world (not the best decision in my opinion but that’s why I love these characters). The only real problem with this issue is it leaves me wanting too much between Eyghon, Ripper, and Angel. Also last page spoiler, Spike’s joining in the fun next issue which should make all those people who get their letters printed on the reader mail page happier (they’ll only be happiest if Spike hooks up with Buffy again: seriously get a restraining order).
