News: Video Game Releases

El Shaddai Ascension of the Metatron – 360, PS3

Buy on Amazon

Developed and published by Ignition, this is the studios last game they are developing!  The game is a pretty awesome looking interpretation of the Book of Enoch, one of the Bible’s Deuterocanonical entries, meaning a book of the Hebrew Old Testament that was not originally included.  Apocrypha is also an acceptable answer.  The gameplay varies between almost a God of War style fighting game where the main character loses his clothes the more he gets hit a la Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins to a 2D platformer.  Anyway it goes, this game is going to be crazy.  Did I mention Lucifer is your sidekick?

No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise – PS3

Buy on Amazon

Developed by Grasshopper (Shadows of the Damned, Killer 7) and published by Konami, this is an HD remake for the PS3 with Move support.  This version includes several boss fights from No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.  If you are not familiar with the series, it stars Travis Touchdown who on one drunken night gets talked into using a working lightsaber he purchased on Ebay to enter a contest to be the best assassin in the world.  Allegedly the PS3 version in Japan had some gore cut out but the PS3 version for the US is uncut.  Allegedly.  Also while its retailing at $39.99, Amazon has it for $29.99.

Wii Love: Games Adults Should Own

Its the holidays and that means its time for lists!  The Nintendo Wii is a system I have said some pretty harsh things about on the podcast.  But there are a few gems out there that maybe people have missed.  And since pretty much everyone and their dog owns a Wii (statistically speaking at least), I thought I would point out a few gems that aren’t cute and fluffy.  There are several other games not on this list that I suspect hover in the realm of amazing but have not played that I hope to write about soon as well.
