News: Video Game Releases

There has been a severe drought of giant robot games over the years and the idea that we get two giant robot games within a week of each other is nice. We also realize some of you might be too snooty for a certain giant robot or video game franchise, which is fine. We’ll only cry a little. But the simple fact is, if you really love giant robots then you love them warts and all. They can’t all be Zone of Enders although we can still dream. Of course, my hope is you do realize that the original Zone of Enders was pretty much a Gundam story. Believe us, we’ve lost count of the little kids who live in a funny shaped space colony that have crawled into a mech during a war and wound up being the best pilot ever.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 – PS3/360
|
Developed by Koei/Omega Force (who did the previous 2) and published by Namco Bandai. If you’ve ever played a Dynasty Warriors game, you probably know what to expect from this game. Multiplayer, bad storylines, and fighting a couple hundred mechs at once. The big difference of course is that it will feature a MASSIVE amount of Gundams from almost every Gundam series ever made (approximately 100). The main additions come in the suits from Gundam 00 and Gundam X. If previous games are to judge the nuances between the Gundam suits should be evident to any Gundam fan. And we haven’t even started in on the giant pilot list.
